Speed Test - 80+MPH08/16/2014 Using our "Big Mama" slingshot we hit a stack of boxes 40 ft away in less that 1/3 of a second. The frame rate of the camera recording doesn't give us any more info with 29 frames per second. The result gives us speed of 120 feet per second which is 81.8 miles per hour. The smash of the can on the peice of metal completely split the beer can and sent a cloud of dirt and rust into the air. The video shows what looks like a trail of smoke from the can as it flies through the air. The smoke trail is actually water spray as the can flips in flight. Distance Check 270+ feet with a half full beer can!08/11/2014 This weekend we did some testing with our heaviest slingshot configuration - "Big Mama." I set up the camera for video at 260 feet expecting to hit 200 and I sailed a couple cans right by the camera. The video shows one of these shots.
